The Photographer

Today, I returned home from an excellent photo road trip with close friend and fellow landscape photographer Frank Colosi. We both needed a break from San Diego and were itching to shoot some new landscape photographs in the Eastern Sierras. The original plan was to backpack into the backcountry and photograph some of the high mountain lakes. Unfortunately, Frank was feeling ill on the first day, so we decided to turn this backpacking trip into a road trip instead, camping at each location. We visited several locations in and near the Sierras including the Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest in the White Mountains, Convict Lake, Mammoth Lakes, Mono Lake, Yosemite National Park, and even made a trip out to the Trona Pinnacles in the Mojave Desert. This photograph is the last that I made during this trip. It shows Frank walking with his camera through the tufas to photograph the morning light on the desert landscape.
