I couldn't begin to tell you how many times I've driven by this lake and never stopped to photograph it. It is a fairly popular destination for many local landscape photographers and maybe that's why I've often passed it over. This night, however, turned out to be an excellent time to photograph this location. The sky was clear and there was no wind, leaving the water of the lake glassy and highly reflective. The moon was still peaking out over the mountain top to the right of the frame, casting fantastic natural lighting on the dock. This was also a small group meet-up and a great chance to shoot with a few other excellent photographers. For a few of us, it was the first time we had met in person, even though we knew each other or at least seen each others' work through social media. Nothing to complain about on a night of shooting the stars and making new friends!
